Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE) is an important and necessary part of all pupils’ education. Our children are growing up in an increasingly complex world and living their lives seamlessly on and offline. This presents many positive and exciting opportunities, but also challenges and risks. Children need to know how to be safe and healthy, and how to manage their academic, personal and social lives in a positive way.

The government has recently made Relationships and Health Education statutory in primary schools. At the Meadow, we teach this compulsory content within our wider programme of PSHE education which also covers money and work, caring for the environment and belonging to a community. There is a statutory requirement for all schools to have a Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) Policy. Our RSE policy has been developed by a working party from within the Symphony Trust and a consultation with parents and the wider school community was carried out in the autumn term of 2020. Click on the documents below to read the policy and appendices. Appendix A gives details of what each year group will learn at the Meadow.
