French
At The Meadow, we teach French to cover the modern foreign languages curriculum in Key Stage 2. We chose to teach French to ensure that we are preparing our children as best as possible for learning languages in secondary school. Continuing with the same language across the key stages means that they are able to become more confident linguists over time.

We are keen that the children at The Meadow have the opportunity to learn about different cultures and languages around the world to promote their intercultural understanding. By learning a foreign language, we hope that the children develop their curiosity and understanding about the world around them, allowing them to be able to communicate with others around the world effectively and to feel part of a global community.
